What are the best services for food delivery?

It comes down to choosing between Seamless and Grubhub -- both services are operated by the same company, and they are interchangeable -- and Doordash. All three services offer a wide range of restaurants, including national chains and local eateries. DoorDash also has many advantages, but we think Grubhub is the winner because it offers multiple payment methods. Amazon Prime members can now enjoy Grubhub Plus, which includes free delivery and exclusive offers.

It's no wonder that Grubhub is the name you immediately think of when it comes to food delivery services. Grubhub has partnered with a wide range of restaurants from national chains to mom-and-pop diners in your neighborhood, allowing you to satisfy any food cravings on demand.

You can use Grubhub to search for restaurants based on cuisine or location. You can also order quickly from the menu, track your order and do all of this without extra fees. Some restaurants have minimum order amounts and additional fees. Users can take out or order delivery and get special offers available only in the app.

Signing up for Grubhub+, a $9.99 per month subscription, allows you to enjoy free delivery.

2. Uber Eats/Postmates

Uber Eats or Postmates is a great option for those who don't mind spending money for the best food and fastest delivery. Uber acquired Postmates in 2020. Both apps are similar. Uber Eats is the only app that allows you to order an Uber. Both apps allow you to order groceries, food, and even pharmaceutical items. You can also choose between over 80 different food categories, including gluten-free and halal.

Uber Eats makes ordering and navigating your restaurant simple. The search bar is located near the top of your home screen when you first open the app. You can search by type of food, restaurant, or even by name. You can also search menus so that you don't need to scroll down the page and miss something.

Before you check out, the restaurant cards will also display information such as delivery fees and estimated times. This makes it easier to choose restaurants that can deliver your food quickly, without costing you a fortune. According to Business of Apps, both apps are compatible with more than 825,000 restaurants, the largest number of restaurants that a food delivery company on this list can work with.

We expected that both apps would deliver in 25-40 minutes when we ordered them from the suburbs. This was quicker than any other app on this list. The apps charged me $9.49 in total for service and delivery fees, which was the most of any app on this list.

We expected a delivery time of 10 to 15 minutes from a restaurant in the immediate vicinity or 35 to 50 for a nearby restaurant. These orders were cheaper because the service fee was $3.75 for all orders.

You'll get a greater variety of food choices with Uber Eats/Postmates, and it will be delivered faster. However, you may have to pay more in suburban areas.

3. DoorDash

DoorDash allows you to order food, groceries, and beauty products through its app. You can also order pet supplies, alcohol, and other items. You can also order food through the Shipping option, which is located on the app's home screen. If you're in California but crave Chicago-style pie, you can order a pizza from Chicago. Just don't expect it for a couple of days.

DoorDash makes it easy to navigate and use, with carousels on the home screen, such as Wallet Friendly or Try Something New. According to Business of Apps, DoorDash partners with more than 390,000 restaurants.

Our order was delivered and serviced for $8.99. This is just below Uber Eats/Postmates. The estimated delivery time for our order was 40 minutes. This isn't too bad, but you can get it faster.

In urban areas, delivery charges were sometimes waived for restaurants within 25 minutes of the city. Service fees ranged from $3 to $3.99, depending on distance. Delivery times ranged between 16 minutes and 36 minutes, depending on the distance of restaurants. If you live in a city, then you will save money by using DoorDash rather than Grubhub.

DoorDash allows you to order laundry detergent, makeup, and other items. However, some orders may take longer than usual to arrive.
